Buy the last version from the PS4 controller, DS4 Is this the best app there is for this job? The error is similar to the one from ZSNES. Haven't checked other emulators besides MAME, which doesn't work at all this way, we always get a black screen with no sound. The settings I used are described in that thread.įor BSNES I had to turn off the option "Synchronize video".Īs for PlayStation 1, I can use ePSXe with no issues.

With this app I can't switch between games like I do with Dolphin, I always have to use my PC to switch between games.įor GameCube Dolphin works with no issues at all, and I may even switch between games using the app, I only have to press alt + F4 to stop the current emulation. BSnes (another Super NES emulator) does, but it's clumsy and I have no idea if this is the best option for the job. So far I discovered that ZSNES doesn't work with this method (it returns some error related to Direct3D).

Either use Moonlight RDP to do the underlying config or some other remote management (Teamviewer and Chrome Remote Desktop both worked for me).I am currently using this app to stream contents from my PC to my iPAD Pro 9.7 If you try to configure GeForce Experience via a MS RDP session, you will not be able to activate Gamestream because it does not recognize you're using a Nvidia GPU. Microsoft RDP will not use the physical GPU, even when the group policy setting that's supposed to force it to is enabled. Input using a PS2 controller with a USB adapter works the same as it did when running emulation directly from my laptop. Using the Gamestream launchpad tool recommended by u/gmessad to launch Moonlight directly into Playnite. Certainly made some extra disk space available at least.Īll the setup was pretty easy.

I did strip out/disable everything I could in my Windows 10 VM just to free up as much resources as possible, though I did not note before and after resource usage to see if this really made much of a difference. Renders Ratchet and Clank near flawlessly, which from my reading is one of the more difficult PS2 games to render. Running in a Windows 10 Pro VM (4 vCPU + 8 GB RAM) with u/proxmox as my hypervisor. I'm the OP and just wanted to follow up on this in case anyone else comes across this post. Want to be able to play even the most demanding PS2 games (Ratchet and Clank, Gran Turismo, etc.). TL DR version - Is there a way to stream PS2 emulator from a good-sized home server to a somewhat lightweight client (old i5 laptop, RPi, etc.) similar to how a Steam Link works. Hope I've gotten the point of my post across. Am I better off sticking with my current plan to build a dedicated box? I do have other systems I emulate.Wii, NES, SNES, N64, couple others.but PS2 emulation is the most demanding of the systems I want to emulate from my research.

So I wanted to see if anyone has any experience with a setup like this? Can a streaming server be setup such that I'd be able to have a good experience with any game I wanted to play (Ratchet and Clank series are probably the most intensive games I would be running). I've come across projects like Moonlight, Parsec, and Rainway, with Moonlight and Parsec being the most commonly used as far as I can tell. I would probably have to tweak my server build a bit, such as by adding a decent Nvidia GPU and switching to an Intel-based build (everything I've read says Intel over AMD when it comes to emulation), but I'm okay with that. I like the idea of this since I wouldn't have the per-PC setup needed for my current setup and I would be able to stream to any reasonably modern device and not even have to build the living room PC replacement since the server would be doing the heavy lifting/rendering. A friend of mine mentioned possibly being able to add a game streaming server virtual machine such that I would be able to stream everything. I also have plans to put together a pretty beefy server that will use Proxmox as a hypervisor and virtualize everything I currently have running bare metal on my really old home server. I wouldn't be able to play the more demanding games on anything but the new build, but I don't consider that a huge deal. My plan has been to build a new box for my living room that will have the hardware to play whatever I throw at it. The main problem I have is that I do not have a box that has the hardware to play harder to emulate games, such as Ratchet and Clank. Lets me game on my laptop from anywhere via VPN. Allows me to game on multiple computers with uniform experience on each PC I setup. I then setup PCSX2 on each PC I want to game on and point PCSX2 to the server via SMB share. I currently store my ROMs, saves/states, BIOs, etc. Feel free to re-direct if another one would be better. I'm not sure if this is the best sub for this, but I'm going to start here.
